According to the United Nations Environment Programme, a sustainable event is one that has been designed, organized and carried out minimizing potential negative impacts on the environment and leaving a positive legacy for the organizing entities and for the participants. agents involved. In order to ensure that these events integrate environmental measures in their design and organization, the public company Ihobe has developed the Erronka Garbia methodology, a procedure that allows minimizing the negative impacts on the environment associated with the celebration of the events.
FANT’s main environmental objectives are:
- Minimize indirect and indirect air pollution (Co2, NOx, O3, PM10, PM2.5) associated with the Festival.
- Minimize the amount of waste generated through correct purchasing and enable its recyclability.
- Minimize the acquisition of complementary elements of the Festival from the location and design.
- Minimize the generation of waste, collect it selectively to guarantee the highest % of its reuse and/or recycling.
- Reduce noise pollution generated by the Festival.
In addition, FANT 2024 includes a new environmental awareness campaign, a spot that will be shown before each film in the Festival program, with the aim of reinforcing communication about measures to improve sustainability in our actions and habits.
