Sinopsis

A scientist creates Proteus–an organic super computer with artificial intelligence which becomes obsessed with human beings, and in particular the creator’s wife.

Donald Cammell

Born in 1934 in Edinburgh, Scotland. After beginning his artistic career as a painter during the fifties, he began writing scripts in the early sixties and debuted co-directing with Nicolas Roeg the film Performance (1968), starring a young Mick Jagger. Until his death in 1996 he only made three more feature films: Demon Seed (1977), White of the Eye (1987) and Wild Side (1995). He was also a regular video clip maker for the famous Irish band U2.
